* Introduction :
Emblica Officinalis belongs to Family Euphorbiaceae. Locally is known as Amla. It is a deciduous tree with feathery, light green foliage attaining an average height of 5.5m and girth of Tom. In most cases the main trunk is divided into 2 to 7 scaffolds near the base Bark is smooth greenish gray, exfoliating in irregular sounded scales, and inside is a seed in color Leaf length is 7 to 25 mm, width 2 to 4 mm appearance pinnate fashion, thus making the branches feathery in general appearance. The leaves develop after fruit set Flowers are pole-green, monoecism and are born in leaf axils in clusters of 6 to 10 fruits are fleshy, globose primrose and yellow stone of the fruit has six ribs splitting into three segments each containing usually two seed.  
* Geography :
It is common in deciduous forests in the greatest part of India except in and regions. In the outer Himalayan range, it seconds up to an elevation of about 1,400 to 1,500 m. * Nurses and planting Techniques:
Amla can be raised as bare-root plants, in containers as well as through vegetative methods. Sowing of the pretreated seeds in the nursery is done during March where irrigation is available as in the third week of May where scarcity of water exists for containerized nursery, sowing of the pretreated seeds is done in a polybag (9x4cm) containing a growing medium of soil, sand and well rotten farmyard manure in the ratio of 1:2:3, respectively or in case vermicompost is available then soil, sand and vermicompost in the ratio of 1:2 respectively may be used cover seed with soil and irrigate regularly. Germination starts within 10 days after sowing and completes within one month.
* Plant protection:
White grubs and treatment can be controlled by foliar application of Chlorophyophes (4 ml /h) fruit borer attack can be controlled by a toy spray of Conocrotophos (20 ml/h) or Cypermethrin (80 ml/h) or Cyambush (80) after every fortnight from mid-June on words Root Rot can be controlled by drenching with 19 Bavistin + 29 Diothane M-45 of water.
* Utilization & Economic Importance:
Wood is used for agricultural implements. It is regarded as excellent firewood with a calorific value of 5,200 kcal/kg and hos ash content of about 2 percent raw fruit an important source of vit. C. The fruit and bark are rich in tannins and used for toning leather.
